Concerts Canceled – Season Suspended

It’s with heavy heart that the Seward Concert Band made the decision this evening to suspend the remainder of our season indefinitely.

We will be canceling the performances we had scheduled for this weekend – March 13 and 14 – and we will suspend rehearsals immediately. We hope for our community and our world that the coronavirus is contained soon.

Should the situation improve enough for the band to feel it is safe to resume rehearsals, we will inform our musicians via email, website, and social media. Otherwise, we hope to see everyone again in the fall.

There and Back Again

The Seward Concert Band invites you to the opening concert for our 43rd season, “There and Back Again”. The concert is on Friday, October 18 at 7:30 PM at Sanford Middle School at 3524 42nd Avenue South in Minneapolis. Suggested donations are $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and $4 students and children. Christopher Gough is joining the Seward Concert Band as our newest director.

The Seward Concert Band is thrilled to welcome our thirteenth director, Christopher Gough, to lead us beginning this September.

Christopher is energized by the possibility of working with a group of musicians who share a passion for lifelong involvement in the arts. Gough also looks forward to working in collaboration with band leadership to create performance opportunities that are rewarding for all involved, bringing together the goals of growing our band and spreading the joy of music throughout our community. Rehearsals Start September 5

We have a new director – Christopher Gough – who is planning an exciting year of performances to engage both our performers and our audiences.
